About Us 

The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario.  SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators at Unit 3 and 4 and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064. 

In addition to the existing contracts for Unit 3 and Unit 4, SGRT has signed a long-term Preferred Supplier Agreement for steam generator replacements at the plant’s remaining units as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Project Control Specialist will be responsible in providing project control support to ongoing projects and supporting the company’s estimating and construction teams to ensure that the company’s project control system is properly implemented and utilized. The role will assume growing responsibility, with initial emphasis on cost analysis and forecasting.

 

What You'll Do Here 

•    Provide support to project team for project control activities as required, including estimating, proposal, cost systems (including project setup in SAP and P6), change management, schedule review, project reporting, and related processes
•    Learn and operates within project specific contract conditions
•    Participate in customer and internal management project status reporting meetings, as required
•    Aid cost control and project accounting groups as required
•    Other assignments as required by the direct line manager
•    Develops reporting documentation as required for internal Joint Venture communications
•    Interfaces between the project controls team and the engineering/construction team
•    Support in Summarizing project status into effective communication tools (presentations, posters, etc.) for team effectiveness
•    Coordinates and implements project communications initiatives as identified by the project team
•    Active involvement in all engineering, procurement, quality, and construction matters for greater understanding of the project status
•    Assists with coordination of change orders and tracking
•    Other duties as assigned

 

What You Bring To The Team
•    1-3 years of related experience is preferred
•    College and/or University degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience  
•    Proficient written (report writing) communication skills
•    Knowledge of SharePoint applications an asset
•    Intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel
•    Passion for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge
•    Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and adaptive thinking skills
•    Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment
•    Interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
•    Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team
•    Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees
•    Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge
•    Detail oriented & customer focus
