Position Title: Training Manager
Who we are:
Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.
What You’ll Do:
ONxpress Civil Constructors JV (CJV) is looking for a Safety Trainer to facilitate different training sessions (virtually and in-person) across the project. The safety trainer ensures that safety training is delivered with the highest quality and engagement manner.

Promote a culture of safety, quality, team participation, and motivation in all aspects of training.

Interface with construction and tooling staff to address training requirements and determine appropriate methods of delivery.

Support resolution of document revisions with the trainers and series leads.

Assist in the development of training material including lesson plans, practical evaluations, and written exams.

Participate in series training review meetings to document training related lessons learned and identify potential subsequent training developments.

Develop and monitor key performance indicators that would ensure best in class performance. Modify KPIs objectives as needed to ensure various targets are being achieved.

Liaise with operations and implementation leads to ensure training programs will meet project needs.

Use available metrics and analysis to identify and drive a continuous improvement training strategy.

Support identifying technical training requirements and creating material to successfully educate project team members to perform their assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively.

What You’ll Bring:

Post-secondary education in Construction, or a related field.

Minimum five (5) + years of construction experience & Heavy Rail

Ability to communicate properly in English both spoken and written, in a professional environment, or provable ability to get this level in no more than three months

Solid understanding and knowledge of legislation including but not limited to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Canadian Standards Association, the Canada Labour Code, and other applicable Health and Safety regulations

Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Expected compensation for this role is between $140,000-$150,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
