Position Overview

It is the responsibility of the Service Person to maintain and repair fleet equipment. Willing to conduct routine preventative maintenance, scheduling future maintenance, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing dysfunctional parts. Conduct routine equipment and vehicle inspections. Maintain transportation of dangerous ticket and working knowledge of safety polices in accordance with OHS. Willing to conducting job specific hazard assessments.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Servicing of fleet vehicles and equipment, this may include fueling, greasing, preventative maintenance, etc.
  • Assist with daily maintenance and pre-trip inspections.  
  • Maintain safe working habits/environment.
  • Ensure accidents/incidents are reported.
  • Co-ordinate activities with the Supervisor. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.


Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Valid Driver’s License and clean abstract. 
  • Willing to consider apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic or mechanically inclined person.
  • Previous experience servicing a variety of road construction equipment preferred. 
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience required.
  • The ability to work with limited supervision; must be a self-starter.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • The ability to work in various climate conditions.
  • The ability to work overtime as required.
  • The ability to work weekends as required. 
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Basic understanding of equipment operations.
