Position Overview

As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor at Aecon International, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to streamline project costs and mitigate risks, all while maintaining high standards of quality and adhering to building regulations.

 

What You will Do Here

  • Oversee project development and delivery to align with business expectations, schedules, and budgets.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotes.
  • Review conditions and qualifications and assist in drafting and negotiating contract types before tender submission.
  • Ensure interim applications, including executed works, on-site materials, and subcontractor works, are submitted to the client’s team by the agreed deadline.
  • Assess, measure, and recover contract variations.
  • Collect records to verify additional payments and defend claims from subcontractors.
  • Review, evaluate, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
  • Assist in procuring subcontractors.
  • Handle effective dispute resolution.
  • Process payments and issue notices to suppliers and subcontractors, including measuring works and differences to determine final costs and accounts.
  • Participate in weekly financial forecasting, including compiling contract costs.
  • Prepare estimates and costs for the work and monitor them during the project.
  • Maintain records of contract variations that may impact costs and generate profitability reports.

 

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Degree with 2:2 or higher is preferred
  • Hold of full Driver’s License is preferred
  • Attention to detail coupled with exceptional planning and organisational skills 
  • Demonstrate a interest in all aspects of engineering and looking for a dynamic workplace that provides an outstanding career opportunity
  • Excellent good communication skills, be able to work flexibly in a team and be a hard worker
