Position Overview

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Yard/Material Attendant will procure and manage inventory levels based on workload forecasts provided by contract holders and manage stock levels required by contractors by use of an existing database. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work independently and superior knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.           


Key Responsibilities 

  • Daily management and issuing of all field staff equipment and stock needs.
  • Daily organization and management of record filing.
  • Complete equipment and stock audits monthly.
  • Timely return processing of defective or damaged equipment.
  • Identification and reporting of any health & safety issues.
  • Determine inventory to load volumes and ensure supply always exceeds demand.
  • Review all documentation for accuracy prior to submission.
  • Carry out daily shipping/receiving duties as required.
  • Basic housekeeping as required.


Required Knowledge and Experience 

  • Proficient at Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Good organization & time management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience are an asset.
  • Independent worker that needs little supervision.
  • Previous experience with a backhoe excavator is an asset.
  • Possession of a valid Ontario G driver’s license.
  • Lifting, filing.
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours when required.
