Aecon is looking to hire our next Bilingual EMS and Environmental Compliance Coordinator to join our Civil East Division in Montreal.

 

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of the EMS; as per the requirements of ISO 14001 :2015
  • Continuous improvement of the EMS
  • Design of the documentation and processes required for the implementation of the EMS in the construction works
  • Works in collaboration with the Environmental and Sustainability Manager and relevant environmental advisors
  • Ensures that the EMS documentation is up-to-date
  • Monitoring and coordination of internal EMS audits
  • Implementation and coordination of ongoing improvements of the EMS
  • Preparation of the EMS review report
  • Prepares and keeps all environmental management, procedures and forms updated
  • Ensures that environmental compliance is taken into account in Project performance reviews
  • Ensures appropriate management of environmental non-compliances and observations within the required time-frame
  • Coordination of the corrective and preventive measures to ensure effective management of environmental non-compliances so they do not re-occur
  • Assists the communication team and the Client in response to complaints
  • Monitors and analyses different KPIs of environmental performance
  • Documents all KPIs and reports about project performance
  • Plans internal, external audits and environmental compliance verification and is the principal respondent for these audits
  • Provides support to the environmental monitoring team
  • Evaluates the training needs and coordinates project environmental training development
  • Coordinates the creation and achievement of objectives in each environmental program

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science and/or environmental management or any related discipline, from reputable and recognized university
  • 3-5 years experience working in the environmental management field (with ISO 14001 requirements)
  • Must have experience developing and managing environmental management systems and programs in accordance with ISO 14001
  • Experience with construction and water works an asset 
  • French and English bilingual is a requirement to ensure relationship with the Main Offices in Toronto and Montreal
