What is the Opportunity?

Aecon’s Civil East sector is a cornerstone of our construction and infrastructure operations, delivering innovative solutions to some of the most complex and impactful projects globally. Renowned for its expertise in heavy civil construction, our Civil East sector specializes in building essential infrastructure that powers economies and enhances communities.

Our portfolio features cutting-edge work on bridges, highways, tunnels, and airports to name a few! In the Caribbean region, we are leveraging our expertise and collaborative approach to deliver world-class infrastructure projects tailored to meet the unique needs of the island communities. 

We are looking for a talented and motivated Plant Manager to join our project team. This role focuses on overseeing the operation, maintenance and management of the machinery and equipment, ensure all plant operations run smoothly, efficiently and safely.

 

 

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Setting up, operating and maintaining critical construction equipment, including the tunnel boring machine, slurry treatment plant, multi service vehicles, slurry transportation system, ventilation systems, water treatment systems, grout plant, tower crane, mobile equipment, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate spare parts order and the relevant warehouse stock.
  • Set up, monitor and organize maintenance reports for all critical equipment.
  • Disc cutters maintenance and refurbishments.
  • Provide options, availability, and pricing for plant equipment.
  • Manage the plant team including but not limited to mechanical and electrical team.
  • Support the planning and implementation of all equipment assembly, mobilization, operation, maintenance and disassembly.
  • Responsible – in close coordination with the procurement department - for procurement process of large assets such as plant equipment, and concrete equipment.
  • View and approve all equipment requests, leases, and disposals.
  • Ensure all equipment are working in a safe manner meeting all local laws and regulations.
  • Assist the environmental department in obtaining and compliance with all environmental permits, laws, and company policies.
  • Support the construction team in all plant needs.

 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • A recognized degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant tertiary qualification.
  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience of working with heavy construction machinery.
  • Ideally hold a minimum of four (4) years of experience working on construction projects like tunnels, airports, sewer systems, concrete and asphalt plants.
