With support from the Supervisor and senior team members, the CAD Technician will be responsible for all facets of design drafting for our existing and perspective utility clients.
What You'll Do Here:
- Support completion of design drawings, quantity calculations and administration for hydro utility projects using various software packages (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, O’Calc, SPIDA Calc, Pull Planner).
- Assisting in field surveys using in-house checklists for hydro utility projects.
- Liaise with Project Designers and field staff as required. Manage workload and provide updates to senior team members.
- Support senior team members to ensure projects are delivered on budget.
- Maintain project schedules.
- Prepare project cost estimates.
- Performs other duties as required.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Post-secondary education in Electrical / Civil Engineering or Architectural program is an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation drafting.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working on utility projects.
- C.E.T. / C. Tech certified or eligible is preferred.
- Previous field survey experience is considered an asset.
- Highly proficient in AutoCAD and / or MicroStation software.
- Proficient with the use of computers and software, including MS Office.
- Understanding of how to read electrical / civil engineering drawings and site plans.
- Excellent safety and attendance record and previously demonstrated strong safety awareness.
- Hybrid split week work from home / office model.
