We are seeking our next Business Development Coordinator to support our Civil East Major projects division in its international expansion, with focus to the Caribbean and Latin American region.

 

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Continuously update the project pipeline and to ensure a clear and up-to-date view of business opportunities
  • Research and analyze target countries for business expansion, gathering relevant market information, competition insights, and opportunities to inform strategic decision-making
  • Proactively identify emerging projects in the Latin America and Caribbean regions to foster new business opportunities
  • Prepare and develop required standard documentation associated with proposal submissions ensuring quality and consistency
  • Create and edit engaging and effective presentations for clients and Aecon executives, tailored to the specific needs of each audience
  • Assist in the assembly, printing, and presentation of proposal packages (RFQ and RFP), ensuring compliance with required standards.
  • Organize and manage a comprehensive activity log for pursuit efforts and maintain an organized archive of submission files.
  • Support the preparation and organization of meetings, as well as drafting minutes based on discussions
  • Participate, as needed, in networking activities and relevant events, such as conferences and meetings, to strengthen relationships and enhance the company's visibility
  • Coordinate the signing of NDAs and other necessary legal documents, ensuring the protection of sensitive information and compliance with legal regulations
  • Manage travel arrangements and track expenses for the department
  • Support on due diligence on potential clients and partners
  • Assist in business establishments process to enter new jurisdictions

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, civil engineering or related field  
  • Can maneuver through complex political situations effectively being sensitive to how people, organizations, and cultures function 
  • Cross-cultural agility – awareness of and value for diverse Aboriginal culture and history 
  • Ability to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect; is effective both inside and outside the organization, on both cool data and hot and controversial topics
  • A self-starter; capable of working both independently and in a team environment, sometimes with little direction 
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to follow on numerous files simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with multiple deadlines and tasks
  • Attention to details
  • Experience using SharePoint an asset 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint, as well as other software products such as Power BI
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish
