Reporting to the Project Manager the Senior Project Designer will be responsible for all facets of design for our existing and perspective Utility clients.
What You'll Do Here:
• Complete design drawings and calculations that satisfy all the applicable code and regu-lation requirements (ESA, OESC, CSA, REG 22/04, Etc.)
• The preparation of design schedules, material / labor estimates, permit applications and construction packages
• Conduct pre-design inspections, worksite visits and construction support
• Preparation of reports regarding the status and results of completed and in-progress de-sign projects
• Prepare technical reports as required by the client and project team
• Utilize various utility design software and tools
• Strong presentation skills, both written and oral, are considered a requirement
• Able to mentor and lead junior team members
• Establish and build relationships with key clients and stakeholders
• Performs other duties as required
What You Bring to the Team:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or College Diploma
• 5-8 years’ experience designing and drafting OH & UG electrical distribution systems
• Registration as with the P.E.O or CET is considered an asset
• Experience in engineering consulting & program management are considered assets
• Stations and Streetlighting design experience are considered assets
• Strong computer skills required – experience with AutoCAD software, Bentley MicroSta-tion / ProjectWise, SAP, SpidaCalc, AGi32 streetlighting software and 3-D software expe-rience is considered an asset
• Proven people and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a diverse group of in-dividuals
• Ability to travel for projects (Valid G driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required)
• Proven ability to take initiative and leadership
• Strong problem-solving skills
