Reporting to the Director, Engineering, the Project Designer will be responsible for all facets of design for our existing and perspective Utility clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete design calculations and drawings that satisfy all the applicable code and regulation requirements
• Assist in the preparation of schedules, estimates and construction packages
• Conduct surveys and worksite visits of project area
• Assist with the preparation of reports regarding the status and results of completed and in-progress design projects
• Prepare technical reports as required by the client and project team
• Utilize various design software and tools
• Liaises with clients, contractors, field staff
• Performs other duties as required
Required Knowledge and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Registration as an E.I.T. with the P.E.O is an asset
• SpatialNet experience is required
• CET certified or CET eligible is preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proven people and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals
• Strong computer skills required – experience with Auto CAD software, Microstation, and 3-D software an asset
• Ability to travel for projects
• Proven ability to take initiative and leadership
• Strong problem solving skills
