What’s The Opportunity

Aecon is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance  Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, developing, and implementing risk programs, driving improvements quantified with metrics, and administering Aecon’s ethical compliance program.

 

What You’ll Do Here

  • Administer Aecon’s ethical compliance program performing monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc compliance procedures. 
  • Implementation and maintenance of the broader Compliance Framework and other compliance activities as necessary
  • Assist and work as a close cross-functional collaborator across multiple stakeholders and functions
  • Screening of third party to confirm protocols of new partners, material subcontractor
  • Oversee the Whistle blower hotline
  • Assisting with research supporting international works
  • Prepare Board Meeting material on a quarterly basis, this also includes a Compliance report.
  • Monitor relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update compliance program documentation, including policy and procedures manuals and training materials.
  • Respond to inquiries, analyze case submissions and address consultation requests.
  • Prepare reports to stakeholders and senior leadership. 
  • Build relationships and liaise with firm’s cross-functional teams, process owners, stakeholders, internal and external legal counsels.
  • Develop internal audit processes and conduct spot audits.

 

What You bring to The Team

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of regulatory compliance or compliance risk role experience
  • Experience in performing risk assessments, gap analysis and monitoring remediation projects
  • Experience with TSX regulation, making fillings, ad hoc reporting Insider Stealth stock
  • Experience in performing quality reviews, internal controls testing and compliance testing
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and critical thinking acumen
  • Experience in change management and/or the establishment and implementation of new processes and procedures
  • Professionalism and excellent judgment concerning confidential matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, documentation skills, high attention to detail and ability to generate high quality deliverables
  • Project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and manage key relationships with various stakeholders

 

Bonus Assets

  • Willingness to travel internationally, 3 or 5 times a year in the Caribbean or potentially in South America
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience with data and personal privacy laws and regulations
