What Is The Opportunity
Aecon is proactively seeking a Risk Manager to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group to support future dynamic, transit projects in Canada. What You Will Do Here:

Lead and conduct Risk Assessments and assess their outcomes.

Lead Risk Management Model (RM3) related activities including audit coordination.

Monitor KPIs.

Advise with your expertise a highly motivated risk and compliance team.

Provide leadership to the team and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.

Develop risk and compliance policies and ensure effective policy implementation and compliance to safety requirements.

Establish regular and ad hoc risk and compliance reporting processes.

Support in continuous improvement.

Ensure reliable, effective collaboration with all stakeholders.

Establish best practices in accordance with regulation and industry trends.

Support to carry out inspections or audits by Contracting Authorities.

Implement reliable risk and compliance systems.

Develop risk and compliance policies and ensures effective policy implementation and compliance.

Lead risk and compliance projects as required.

What You Will Bring To The Team:
-
8+ year experience in risk management ideally in the rail industry or related fields.

Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Analytics, Statistics or related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.

Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) desirable.

Project Management Institue (PMI) - Risk Management Professional (RMP) is desirable.

Experience working with both quantitative and qualitative risk assessments.

Experienced working with or applying AACE recommended practices in respect to risk and contingency development.

Experienced with utilizing the Monte Carlo risk assessment tool.

Experienced in working in large, complex projects / brownfield or greenfield projects.

Perform effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment – comfortable to act with uncertainty and able to create new systems, policies and procedures with limited resources and a need to a quick yet high quality implementation.

Effective oral and written communication skills.
-
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.

Strong knowledge of Risk and Compliance principles as well as legal regulations.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.

Affinity with technical and commercial terms for contract management.
