What is the Opportunity?

Aecon Concessions is a leader in delivering innovative infrastructure solutions through public-private partnerships (P3s). We are seeking a strategic and commercially focused Sr. Manager, Airport Development to lead the structuring and execution of airport-related P3 transactions across Canada and internationally.

This role is pivotal in shaping the commercial, technical, and operational frameworks for major airport infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with Aecon’s long-term investment and operational goals. The successful candidate will work closely with public authorities, investors, and internal stakeholders to deliver bankable, sustainable, and high-impact airport developments.

What You'll Do Here:

• Transaction Structuring: Lead the development of commercial, financial, and technical structures for airport PPP projects, including risk allocation, financial modeling, and investment analysis.
• Airport Expertise: Integrate airport-specific operational and technical considerations into transaction design, including terminal planning, airside/landside operations, and regulatory compliance.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison with government partners, airport authorities, financial institutions, legal advisors, and technical consultants throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Procurement Strategy for Airports: Design and manage competitive procurement processes, including RFQs, RFPs, and negotiation of concession agreements to align with airport development objectives.
• Commercial Negotiation: Lead negotiations on key commercial terms, ensuring alignment with Aecon’s investment criteria and risk appetite.
• Due Diligence Oversight: Coordinate technical, legal, and financial due diligence to support investment decisions and transaction execution.
• Internal Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Aecon’s construction, operations, and legal teams to ensure seamless integration of project delivery and long-term asset management.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Aviation Management, or related field; MBA or Master’s in Infrastructure/PPP preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in airport development, infrastructure finance, PPP advisory, with a strong track record in leading complex transactions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of airport operations, planning, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., ICAO, IATA, Transport Canada).
• Experience with airport technical systems, terminal design, and airside/landside integration is highly desirable.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively for international projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience working with multilateral development banks or international airport authorities is an asset.
