About Us 

The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and AtkinsRéalis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064

The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Power’s Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power’s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064. In addition to the existing contracts for Unit 3 and Unit 4, SGRT has been awarded contracts for Unit 5, 7, and 8 for steam generator replacements as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project.

Reporting to the General Superintendent, the Foreign Materials Exclusion (FME) and Confined Space SPOC will be accountable for and oversee the FME and Confined Space Programs for the SGRT and Shoreline Power Group project.

What You Bring To The Team

  • Accountable for and oversee FME and Confined Space Program for compliance
  •  Responsible for FME and Confined Space Coordinator
  • Determine FME Control Level for all work execution tasks
  • Review CWP to ensure proper control levels are identified in the CWP
  • Audit Field Inspection requirements (e.g., As-Found, As-Left, inspections)
  • Audit pre and post cleaning requirements
  • New piping cleanliness and inspection requirements for installations
  • New material inspections
  • Determines FME and confined space monitor or oversight requirements
  • Ensures FME Control Areas are established as per the CWP instructions
  • Ensures Operating Experience (OPEX) are included in the CWP’s
  •  Ensure FME cabinets are appropriately stocked with common FME controls materials
  • Provide oversight and support to work groups to ensure any specialty items are ordered as part of the development of the FME plan
  • Provide guidance to the FME supervisors
  • Coordinate with Foreperson and execution crew in the execution of their assigned duties
  • Coordinate across all functions of the project as required to achieve task(s) goals
  • Provide leadership to field supervisors, coordinators and respective craft labor
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring To The Team

  • Minimum 2-3 years construction supervision experience
  • Must possess FME and Confined Space qualification or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
  • Ability to successfully coordinate a construction project
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Basic presentation skills
  • Nuclear experience an asset, including vault work
