Reporting to the Project Manager, the Electrical Design, Team Lead will be a key member of the engineering team.


What You'll Do Here:


• Supervise and coordinate: Oversee the daily activities of the electrical distribution team, ensuring design tasks are completed efficiently and safely

• Technical support: Provide expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to power distribution systems.

• Project Management: Work closely with the Project Management Team to ensure designs are completed on time and within budget.

• Training and development: Mentor and train team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

• Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.

• Resource management: Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and operational goals.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all project related documents.
• Safety: Promote, lead, and execute a Safety-First culture for employees, sub contractors, and consultants in compliance with the projects Environmental Health and Safety Program

 • Complete technical design drawing reviews for scope adherence, and CAD quality.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

What You Bring to the Team:


• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant job experience.
• Demonstrated ability for developing design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications. 

• Previous managerial experience is considered an asset.

• Experience with Quick Pole, SPIDA Calc or PLS CAD is considered an asset.
• Good knowledge of North American codes and standards such as CSA, NEC, CEC, IEEE, or NERC
• Experience in AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation is an asset.
• Experience working with electrical distribution utilities.
• Exceptional ability to multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be able to work under pressure and have a sense of urgency.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
