Under the supervision of the Construction Manager, the Stops Superintendent is responsible for the delivery and management of multiple stops assigned to the individual. Stops Superintendent is responsible to make sure that construction is completed on schedule in compliance with the contract and the job cost estimate and all the work is completed safely to acceptable standards of quality and workmanship.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with Mosaic Transit Group (MTG) standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations
  • Ensuring strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain overall inventory control of all materials, plants and equipment assigned to the project.
  • Lead team to promote positive work environment.
  • Coordinate the administration of contracts in conjunction with the MTC team
  • Developing and implementing recovery strategies to maintain project schedule and budget.
  • Resolving local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule, and all other appropriate matters.
  • Ensure that contracts are kept current and being updated with change orders on a regular basis
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and monitor progress
  • Take the lead on productivity issues and monitor work performance and efficiency of employees and subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedule are followed and project is executed effectively and within budget.
  • Assist in preparing reports for management review on work performance
  • Prepare and review reports on progress, costs, materials used and adjust work schedules as required
  • Coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference problems
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • University degree in civil engineering or Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a construction supervisory role
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications.
  • Experience in executing all aspects of construction including excavation, piling, shoring, etc.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adaptable to change.
  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines including tunnels, LRT stations, earthworks, grading, concrete works, etc.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
