Position Title:  Quality Assurance Coordinator

 

Who We Are:

Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.

 

As part of this project, we are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Project Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, contractual requirements, and approved project quality plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate the internal quality audit program, including audit scheduling, notifications, preparation of audit checklists, collection of objective evidence, report administration, and follow-up of findings and actions.
  • Maintain and monitor quality registers and action logs, including audits, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective action reports (CARs), opportunities for improvement, lessons learned, and quality training records.
  • Administer NCR and corrective action workflows by monitoring status, following up with responsible parties, reviewing closure evidence for completeness, and escalating overdue actions to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Coordinate the review, revision, approval, issuance, and periodic update of QMS documents, procedures, forms, templates, and records in collaboration with process owners and Document Control.
  • Collect, validate, analyze, and report quality performance data, trends, and key performance indicators for monthly quality reports, dashboards, management review, and project leadership meetings.
  • Prepare agendas, presentations, minutes, and action trackers for quality meetings, working groups, audits, and management reviews, and follow up to ensure agreed actions are completed.
  • Support quality orientation, awareness, and training activities for project personnel and subcontractors, including tracking attendance and maintaining training evidence.
  • Coordinate quality-related activities and information with Quality Managers, construction, design, systems, environmental, procurement, document control, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support client, certification-body, regulatory, and third-party audits and assessments by coordinating documentation, evidence, logistics, responses, and action tracking.
  • Perform periodic reviews of quality records to confirm that they are complete, accurate, traceable, and retained in accordance with project requirements.
  • Support the administration and effective use of digital quality and document management systems, including SharePoint and other project quality platforms.
  • Promote quality awareness, process compliance, lessons learned, and continual improvement across the project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

 

Experience You Will Bring:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Quality Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in quality assurance, quality coordination, document control, project administration, or construction quality, preferably on a large infrastructure, transit, or rail project.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and quality management system principles. ISO 9001 internal auditor training or certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience coordinating audits, managing NCR and corrective action records, maintaining registers, and tracking actions through to closure.
  • Experience preparing reports, dashboards, presentations, meeting minutes, and quality performance metrics for management review and project leadership.
  • Strong document management and records-control skills, with careful attention to accuracy, traceability, and version control.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint. Experience with Power BI, audit management software, or digital quality management systems is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and the confidence to follow up on overdue or incomplete actions.
  • General familiarity with construction documentation, Inspection and Test Plans, Ontario construction standards, and major-project contractual requirements is considered an asset.
  • Experience working on transit, rail, or other major infrastructure projects is considered an asset.

Compensation: $100,000 - $115,000 annually. The listed salary range reflects potential base pay and considers factors such as experience, education, and training. Each candidate is evaluated individually and offers toward the higher end may be extended to those with exceptional qualifications.
