Position Title: Submittal Coordinator
Who We Are:
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.
As part of this project, we are currently looking for a Submittal Coordinator to join our team.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with Project Document Control team and other project stakeholders to manage coordination of Submittals between the Project Delivery team and the Client.
- Establish submittal execution strategy in order to ensure compliance with Project Agreement and streamline delivery of submittals to the client
- Tracking submittals to completion per the timelines stated within the Project Agreement and the baseline schedule
- Review suitability of subcontractor comments in terms of compliance with requirements of the Project Agreement.
- Analyze and mitigate risk of delayed submittals and the impact on the project schedule
- Maintain proper documentation of the activities
- Coordinate meetings with Project Delivery team, Project Co and third-party stakeholders to resolve submittal issues
- Coordinate with Construction Quality team to resolve the outstanding NCR
- Prepare ad-hoc reports
- Contribute and draft letter correspondences relating to Work Submittal issues
- Build excellent relationship with Project Team and other project stakeholders
- Highly organized, responsive and adept at efficiently coordinating numerous submittals
Experience You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Civil or a Construction management discipline
- 2 to 4 years’ experience as a Submittal Coordinator / Project Coordinator within heavy infrastructure or transit industry
- Knowledge of Project delivery methodologies such as PDB, P3, or design/build is an asset
- Understanding of project management principles is preferred.
- Proficiency in Aconex, Unifier, Power BI, and Microsoft Suite with a strong emphasis on advanced Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Experience with CAD related software such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD, Revit considered an asset.
