Position Title:  System Integration & Interface Coordinator

 

Who We Are:

STC is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.

 

As part of this project, we are currently looking for a System Integration & Interface Coordinator to join our team.

 

What You Will Do:

Systems Integration Support

  • Support the development and maintenance of Systems Integration and Interface Management Plans.
  • Assist the System Integration & Interface Manager in tracking integration progress, identifying risks, and coordinating actions across disciplines.

Technical & Documentation Coordination

  • Collect and consolidate technical inputs from engineering teams to update Interface Matrices, ICDs, requirements lists, and other integration documents.
  • Maintain interface tracking lists, risk registers, and action logs.

Interface Coordination

  • Support the identification and definition of technical interfaces through workshops and meetings with internal teams, suppliers, and external parties.
  • Participate in interface meetings, preparing minutes, follow-up actions, and ensuring timely delivery of interface-related inputs.

Testing & Commissioning Support

  • Coordinate with the Testing & Commissioning team to ensure interface requirements and prerequisites are in place before test phases.
  • Assist in gathering evidence and documentation for various stages of systems testing.

Compliance & Safety Support

  • Ensure supplier deliverables follow project requirements, standards, and contractual obligations related to interfaces.

Experience You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • 1–3 years of experience in engineering roles, ideally within transportation, rail, infrastructure, or other complex technical projects. (Entry-level roles are acceptable.)
  • Basic understanding of systems engineering principles and multidisciplinary projects. (Previous exposure to rail systems is an asset but not required.)
  • Interest in learning about modern railway systems, their components, interfaces, and integration challenges.
  • Knowledge or coursework related to design coordination, project engineering, or construction processes is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders in a multicultural project environment.
  • Strong motivation to develop skills in interface management, systems integration, and large-scale infrastructure delivery.
  • Familiarity (even academic) with standards such as AREMA, ISO, CENELEC, MIL‑STD, IEEE is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Good analytical, organizational, and documentation skills, with attention to detail.

Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000 annually. The listed salary range reflects potential base pay and considers factors such as experience, education, and training. Each candidate is evaluated individually and offers toward the higher end may be extended to those with exceptional qualifications.
