What is the Opportunity?
This role leads a team of BIM staff and coordinates with project functions within Aecon and Joint Venture partners, ensuring the successful delivery of digital solutions for major civil infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Provide leadership, support, and coordination across all technical work streams from design through construction, including engineering, design management, digital engineering, sustainability, surveying, asset management, and industrialization.
- Ensure delivery of integrated digital solutions in accordance with Aecon’s IDD processes and procedures.
- Manage the link between the client’s technical team, consultant design team, Aecon (and JV partners), and subcontractor design teams.
- Support the project Technical Director to enable Integrated Digital Delivery outcomes, ensuring information is delivered on schedule and coordinated across disciplines and organizations.
- Implement Aecon’s Integrated Digital Delivery process, including pre- and post-contract IDD strategies and execution plans.
- Manage consultant and supply chain information models and delivery plans to support federated models and agreed deliverables.
- Report and manage interfaces between engineering disciplines, design and construction, and temporary/permanent works.
- Develop implementation plans for design to construction through IDD processes, optimizing sustainability, buildability, logistics, and safety.
- Develop and implement project IDD training matrices.
- Arrange start-up and implementation of IDD processes at the project level.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Construction Managers to utilize 3D information for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling, coordination, and field layout.
- Create BIM data requirements for project management and construction needs.
- Identify opportunities and recommend solutions to enhance or improve processes.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical training, with experience/knowledge of civil construction practice.
- Excellent knowledge of BIM standards.
- Experience with model federation platforms (e.g., Assemble Systems, Navisworks, Bentley Navigator).
- Experience implementing Common Data Environments (e.g., ProjectWise, Aconex).
- Detailed understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards.
- Working knowledge of EHS regulations.
- Experience across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Experience working within construction project environments; large, complex infrastructure projects preferred.
- Understanding of design and construction phases and alignment with the Digital Plan of Works.
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
