Objective
To lead Aecon’s business development efforts across Latin America by identifying strategic opportunities, building key relationships, and supporting the company’s international growth through market intelligence, tendering, and partnership development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed market analysis and stakeholder mapping to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify key stakeholders (competitors, political actors, private sector leaders) aligned with Aecon LATAM’s business development plan.
- Monitor political, legislative, regulatory, and media landscapes relevant to Aecon’s interests.
- Identify, analyze, and track business opportunities in LATAM aligned with Aecon’s international strategy by: Attending networking events, monitoring major media outlets and leveraging digital platforms, engaging with trade commissions, construction associations, chambers, consultants, suppliers, designers, and government agencies.
- Collaborate with marketing and corporate services to develop strategic marketing materials that enhance Aecon’s international positioning.
- Lead and support the tendering process for multiple infrastructure projects, from inception to negotiation:
- Inception: Identify and position Aecon with strong construction and design partners.
- RFQ: Guide submission preparation and represent Aecon during interviews.
- RFP: Review bids critically, focusing on pricing, scheduling, and risk.
- Negotiation: Understand leverage points to secure favorable outcomes.
- Work closely with internal and external fiscal, legal, and insurance teams to bid competitively and establish local partnerships.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- 8+ years of experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in bridges, water sanitation, dams, ports, airports, and urban transportation.
- Strong ability to challenge design teams and propose optimal solutions.
- Skilled in interpreting client needs and offering creative solutions.
- Experience in pricing and project financing is a plus.
- Excellent presentation and persuasive communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Collaborative mindset with openness to diverse cultures and ideas.
- High ethical standards and professionalism.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Project/Primavera and AutoCAD are a plus.

Objetivo
Liderar los esfuerzos de desarrollo de negocios de Aecon en América Latina, identificando oportunidades estratégicas, construyendo relaciones clave y apoyando el crecimiento internacional de la empresa mediante inteligencia de mercado, licitaciones y desarrollo de alianzas.
Responsabilidades Clave
- Desarrollar y mantener análisis de mercado detallado y mapeo de actores relevantes para apoyar la toma de decisiones estratégicas.
- Identificar actores clave (competencia, políticos, líderes del sector privado) alineados con el plan de desarrollo de negocios LATAM de Aecon.
- Monitorear el entorno regulatorio, mediático y relevante para los intereses de Aecon.
- Identificar, analizar y dar seguimiento a oportunidades de negocio en LATAM conforme al plan internacional de Aecon mediante: Participación en eventos de networking, Monitoreo de medios de comunicación y uso de plataformas digitales, Relación con comisiones de comercio, asociaciones de construcción, cámaras, consultores, proveedores, diseñadores y agencias gubernamentales.
- Colaborar con los equipos de marketing y servicios corporativos para desarrollar materiales estratégicos que posicionen mejor a Aecon internacionalmente.
- Participar en el proceso de licitación de múltiples proyectos, desde la identificación hasta la negociación:
- Inicio: Identificar y posicionar Aecon con socios sólidos en construcción y diseño.
- RFQ: Guiar la preparación de propuestas y representar a Aecon en entrevistas.
- RFP: Revisar críticamente las ofertas, considerando precios, cronogramas y riesgos.
- Negociación: Identificar puntos de apalancamiento para lograr acuerdos favorables.
- Colaborar con equipos internos y externos en temas fiscales, legales y de seguros para licitar competitivamente y establecer alianzas y entidades locales.
Conocimientos y Experiencia Requerida
- Más de 8 años de experiencia en proyectos de infraestructura de gran escala, preferiblemente en puentes, saneamiento, represas, puertos, aeropuertos y transporte urbano.
- Capacidad para desafiar a los diseñadores y proponer soluciones óptimas.
- Habilidad para interpretar las necesidades del cliente y ofrecer soluciones creativas.
- Experiencia en precios y financiamiento de proyectos es un plus.
- Excelentes habilidades de presentación y comunicación persuasiva.
- Dominio del inglés y español (oral y escrito).
- Espíritu colaborativo y apertura a culturas e ideas diversas.
- Ética profesional sólida.
- Disponibilidad para viajar internacionalmente.
- Dominio de MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Project/Primavera y AutoCAD son un plus.
