At Aecon U.S, we are always looking for exceptional talent to join our team and work on growing project portfolios. We are actively recruiting for an Environmental Technician to support our Savannah River project site.
Reporting to the EH&S Director, the Environmental Technician will be responsible for providing support in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the environmental management programs and procedures.
Citizenship Requirement:
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
What You'll Do Here
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of processes for environmental management, waste management, and chemical management
- Prepare documentation and reports including environmental performance reports, information and tracking reports, and environment condition reports
- Perform field inspections and surveys of environmental related activities to observe and document environmental hazards or regulatory violations
- Create sampling and analysis plans in accordance with environmental management processes
- Participate in the preparation, monitoring, and implementation of corrective action plans as necessary
- Provide guidance and coach/mentor project management and staff in the execution of field activities related to the Environmental Management System
- Participate in environmental audits, assessments, and inspections conducted by others
- Provide information as necessary to project managers in support of environmental awareness and regarding potential environmental risks and impacts.
- Maintain awareness of environmental legal requirements and amendments applicable to the projects
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring To The Team
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or Biology/Geoscience is preferred
- 3-5 years of experience working in the environmental management field. Familiar with applicable Federal/state EPA requirements
- Experience working in a nuclear and/or construction environment is an asset
- Comprehensive understanding of industry standard environmental site assessment practices and processes
- Must have demonstrable experience developing and managing environmental management programs in accordance with ISO requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment
