What is the Opportunity?
Reporting directly to the Director of Federal Services, the Site Manager role will support the overall management of the SRS Site. The Federal Site Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day site operations, coordinating personnel and resources, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, and ensuring contractual requirements, schedules, quality standards, and client expectations are consistently met. The role requires strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving capabilities and collaboration with other Aecon Federal Department Managers and Directors. Department of Energy (DOE) experience is highly recommended. Client relations must be a demonstrated strength, as the Site Manager will work collaboratively with the client and key stakeholders on a daily basis.
 
 
 
Citizenship Requirement:
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
 
 
 
 
What You'll Do Here:
  • Ensures that company policies and project procedures are being adhered to and followed by project personnel.
  • Support project and construction management with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for all construction activities.
  • Support work planning and execution of multiple projects with manpower levels, materials, tools and equipment, rentals and work schedules.
  • Drive consistency in onboarding of resources in support of multiple projects.
  • Responsibility for the implementation and enforcement of safety, quality and human performance programs across all projects.
  • Ensure timely notification of both client designated representatives and Aecon leadership team members of all site security and safety incidences.
  • Ensure worker training records are maintained.
  • Support development and maintenance of risk management plans aligned with implementation of project objectives.
  • Plan and maintain temporary site facilities and site logistics.
  • Support projects in development of recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy.
  • Coordinate and onboard direct hire trade labor and non-manual resources, maintaining efficient use of materials, tools and equipment across multiple projects.
  • Command a thorough understanding and support of applicable trade agreements.
  • Apply Aecon company discipline policies and appropriately escalate performance concerns to the Site Labor Relations Manager for manual resources and Human Relations Representatives for non-manual resources.
  • Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner-specified requirements.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions for common administrative items used by site personnel.
  • Review and approve purchase orders within Limits of Authority.
  • Interface with client representatives for alignment on customer site policies.
  • Maintain respectful collaborative relationships with site Safety, Quality, Construction and Project Management personnel.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Perform regular field tours to observe worker behaviors, execution performance and maintain a high level of engagement with project site personnel.
  • Lead site safety inspections and participate in all Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and events.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives aimed at overall continuous improvement.
  • Review and approve timesheets, expense reports, vacation requests and training requests within Limits of Authority.
  • Hold daily meetings with project managers and construction managers to review priorities, progress and constraints.
  • Responsible for performance management of all direct-report employees, including coaching, mentoring, assistance with career planning and training, and preparation of yearly and mid-year performance reviews.
  • Provide proposal support in pursuit of new opportunities.
  • Ensure policies, processes and procedures are maintained and updated in accordance with client and company changes.
  • Collaborate with Aecon’s Federal Contract Solutions (FCS) team to influence strategic change initiatives and ensure alignment with federal compliance requirements while driving operational excellence and mitigating regulatory risk.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Safeguard and monitor USG-controlled information at designated Aecon facilities.
  • Manage daily site records for all site resources for both equipment and site workforce.
 
 
 
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Minimum of 10 years nuclear construction and subcontractor supervisory experience.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in the nuclear or construction industry.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements.
  • Proficient understanding of NQA-1 construction and requirements.
  • Must understand how to support a positive Safety Culture.
  • Leadership experience in managing complex nuclear construction projects.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Must have a full appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, especially in proofreading.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to support teams and apply problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player with other functional areas in order to develop best-path-forward, solution-oriented improvements.
  • Leadership responsibilities expected in creating and sustaining a strong, healthy nuclear culture.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and understand how decisions impact the overall organization.
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative; ability to follow through and see tasks to completion while working effectively and adapting in an ever-changing, challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate alternate solutions and be prepared with contingency plans as needed in a calm and efficient manner.
  • Strong attention to detail while checking all aspects of the security program with respect to U.S. Government security guidance.
  • Ability to support and maintain the corporate CMMC framework/environment through implementation of Technology Control Plans and required policies, procedures and SOPs necessary to maintain compliance and oversight of controlled information
