- Lead by example to ensure a “ONE TEAM” Project-First, collaborative approach for internal, external, cross-JV and client-facing interactions.
- Create the context that promotes this and other values that are required to make the project successful.
- Ensure the delivery of all its scope in accordance with safety standards, on time, on budget and compliant with the Contract.
- Provide regular and accurate progress updates to the Project Director, Project Controls and the client for reporting purposes.
- The Project Manager is accountable for cost and schedule adherence and management of threats and opportunities, including timely escalation.
- Early identification of any threats to project schedule or cost profile, or quality issues.
- Constantly monitor for schedule and cost reduction opportunities across their scope of work. In particular, the Project Manager should be continuously looking for more efficient methods to perform the work.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the project requirements are met and represent the most efficient methods to deliver its scope.
- Drive compensatory actions related to adverse quality trends during the project.
- As a member of the Project Leadership Team, participate in regular meetings and provide advice and support to the other members.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Project Risk Register. Specifically, the Project Manager is responsible for the identification, mitigation and management of related risk items for their scope.
- Interface with the Client on requests for contract changes in close collaboration with the support team.
- Track and expedite internal and external deliverables as part of the contract.
- The Project Manager is the SPOC for their scope for the entire organization.
- Ensure support and technical assistance are deployed to the Construction team during the construction phase on site.
- Provide frequent, informal performance feedback to team members, and formal feedback according to home office company policy.
- Endeavour for the feedback to be in person wherever possible.
- 5 - 10 years of related experience, ideally in electrical and I&C in a nuclear environment.
- Quantitative, Engineering or Construction Management post-secondary degree.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented approach, focused on quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Agility and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- Innovative problem-solving skills.
- EPC contractor experience.
- Construction field experience in a nuclear environment.
- Mega-project or portfolio project experience in a nuclear environment.
- Demonstrated project management knowledge (e.g. via PMI certification).
- Consensus-building experience.
- Claims avoidance and/or claims negotiation experience.
- Leadership experience in high-performing teams.
- Primavera P6 knowledge.
