The joint venture between SNC-Lavalin and Aecon has been awarded an Extended Services Master Services Agreement (ESMSA) with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for projects at both the Pickering & Darlington Nuclear Generating Stations.

The Sr. Project Coordinator is a highly motivated self-starter, reporting to the Project Manager and will be responsible for thecoordination of engineering and construction work. This role will require continuous communication with all project teammembers, and will be responsible for identifying, planning and implementing various scopes of work, depending on businessrequirements.
 

What is the Opportunity?

• Plans and implements an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan,activities, milestones, and manpower requirements.
• Develops and maintains the project schedule and budget for various phases of the project(s)(engineering, procurement, construction, closeout).
• Provides status report of project milestones and adjustment to schedules.
• Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
• Identifies project requirements and coordinates with appropriate trades and subcontractors.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of Comprehensive Work Package(s) in cooperation withconstruction and engineering.
• Provide assurance that construction activities are performed in accordance with written and approvedpolicy, standards, programs and applicable procedures.
• Provide and ensure effectiveness of the liaison function between field trades and design engineers forproblem resolution and information flow.
• Establish and maintain interfaces with other internal groups, subcontractors and suppliers supportingthe project.
• Develop, write and maintain detailed work plans in cooperation with construction leads.
• Maintains meeting minutes.
• Identifies risks to the Project Manager and identifies actions for entering into the action tracking log.
• Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings,turnover documents, etc.
• Reviews project design and lead constructability reviews, for compliance with engineering principles,company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications
• Coordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering designand test problems.
• Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensures customer needs are met.
• Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
• Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required.
• Writes and reviews purchase specifications and subcontract documents
• Active involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures.

What You Bring to the Table: 

• Experienced Project Coordinator with minimum 2 years of experience in the Nuclear industry or similar role.
• Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural)
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills
• Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team
• Organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and multi-task/ Service orientated
