Scale/Loader Operator

The Scale/Loader Operator is a seasonal full time hourly position responsible for the general operation of the scale and front end loader for a concrete and asphalt recycling yard in Balzac, Alberta.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring inbound trucks containing concrete and asphalt demolition construction material.
  • Responsible for utilizing Front End Loader to manage rubble stockpile.
  • Responsible for loading and scaling all outbound trucks with Front End Loader.
  • Responsible for handling walk-in inquiries.
  • Will conduct site orientations, maintain an accurate visitors list and ensure proper PPE is being utilized by all visitors and truckers.
  • Will maintain the general upkeep of the scale kiosk and platform scale.
  • Ensure regular equipment maintenance is completed by completing daily checks.
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her Supervisor.


Required Knowledge and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with scaling and Front End Loader operations.
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to work a flexible work schedule when required.
  • Ability to work with others as a team.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable transportation.
