Reporting to the General Superintendent on the project, the Surveyor will be responsible for coordinating and laying out various aspects of the construction project with a high level of accuracy, ensuring the design criteria is adhered to and well documented. This is supporting the Bow River Bridge project based in Calgary, Alberta. Travel and/or accommodations are not provided.


Key Responsibilities       

  • Maintain and verify provided control network
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities
  • Maintain accurate survey records, documentation and stamped submittals
  • Provide layout at various stages of construction
  • Organize and manage survey operations and personnel
  • Collect as-built records and surveyors notes in a specified format
  • Experience working with Turnover requirements
  • Working experience with Total Station survey gear for large industrial construction projects
  • Ability to work with CAD mapping and associated software / hardware


Required Knowledge and Expereince 

  • Post-secondary education in Surveying or Geomatic
  • Knowledge of survey practices, standards and laws
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Bridge Construction 
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Experience with surveying and engineering-based software such as Auto Cad and Total Station
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment while focusing on multiple deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a site environment and willingness to work the project schedule which may include evenings, weekends or nightshift
