What Is The Opportunity?
Reporting to the Director, Project Development, this role will support the development and success of Aecon’s Nuclear New Build portfolio including strategy, planning, reporting, control, coordination, integration, quality control, and execution of the overall program here in Canada and internationally.
What You'll Do Here
- Support the Director in advancing the Nuclear New Build Portfolio Program including strategy, program governance, KPIs, and resource planning
- Provides status report of program, project milestones, risks, profitability, billings forecast v. actuals, and adjustment to schedules in cooperation with Aecon controls and finance
- Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables as assigned including project and program related documents, turnover documents, etc.
- Provide assurance that project activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs and applicable procedures
- Provide and ensure effectiveness of the liaison function between Aecon internal departments, functional organizations and across company macro divisions including Nuclear, Civil, and Industrial for alignment, cooperation, program/project risk management, problem resolution and information flow
- Forecast and tracks change orders and scope changes
- Coordinates all site program and project activities including validation of material specifications, preparation of purchase requisitions, materials material tracking and ensuring traceability of materials when installed in the field
- Establish and maintain interfaces with other internal groups, subcontractors and suppliers supporting the projects
- Develop and write detailed work plans in cooperation with project leads
- Maintain high standards related to final product quality
- Intermittent international travel to check, validate project work performance and meet with project and client personnel
- Carry out intermittent OPEX visits to new build nuclear sites to enhance Aecon’s new build expertise and industry knowledge
- Participate in company-wide initiatives, and presentations aimed at overall continuous improvement and information flows
What You Bring To The Team
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, or another relevant field with a focus on nuclear construction
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in project engineering in a construction or EPC environment with project management experience
- Experience working under a Nuclear Quality Program preferred
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team
- Desire to work an interface with clients including some intermittent travel as necessary and planned
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to grow into greater project management and leadership roles within Aecon and the nuclear industry
