At Aecon, people are at the heart of everything we do. Aecon is focused on identifying, attracting, and hiring talented and diverse workers to work in our Cambridge Fabrication Shop and we are currently seeking a Labourer to support projects at this facility.

Successful applicants must become members of the United Association union local 527 as a Metal Trades Worker.

What You'll Do Here:

• Operate hand and power tools of all types: grinders, saws, bevellers, sand blasters and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
• Handle material using forklifts, overhead cranes, buggies and carts.
• Receive and identify incoming material.
• Clean and prepare shop areas.
• Assist other craft workers.
• Be willing to learn new skills as Aecon will provide training for this position.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Ability to use stairs, ladders.
• Ability to work long hours per day when required, occasionally in outdoor weather conditions.
• Fall Arrest is an asset.
• WHMIS Certification is an asset.
• Overhead Crane Training is an asset.
• Forklift Training is an asset.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs independently.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions using power tools and equipment.
• Work is primarily performed in a fabrication shop environment and may include exposure to dust, noise, vibrations, and industrial equipment.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors, as required, in all seasonal and weather conditions.
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators, protective clothing, gloves, hearing protection, and eye protection.

The expected pay range for this role is: $20/hr - $35/hr

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
