Position Title:  HR Coordinator (Contract)

Position Overview 
Since 1967, we have proudly served Ontario’s nuclear industry in a range of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services, in addition to maintenance and manufacturing services. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Aecon Nuclear, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide recruitment and administrative support to the Nuclear Human Resources and operations team. The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing professional, client-centered support within a fast-paced operational environment.  
 
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment, Onboarding and Offboarding
⦁    Post all available positions internally and/or externally depending on the recruitment strategy. 
⦁    Participate as needed for campus/ co-op recruitment. 
⦁    Main point of contact for drafting offer letters, onboarding new employees, collecting all new hire paperwork, submission of IT needs, access to software and hardware, and follow up to ensure all needs are in place prior to the employee start date.
⦁    Participate in interviews as needed. 
⦁    Maintain the recruitment dashboard for the Nuclear team.  
⦁    Schedule and coordinate Orientations for new hires for all salary and hourly non-union employees.  
⦁    Act as liaison between HR, new hire and manager regarding onboarding information.  
Payroll and HRIS
⦁    Responsible for working closely with the HR Admin to ensure all transactions related to the employee life cycle are submitted accurately and within the required payroll deadlines. For example, new hire paperwork, terminations, benefits, compensation changes, taxable benefits, project uplifts.
⦁    Responsible for salary reports and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.  
⦁    In charge of investigating and answering employee questions associated with their pay acting as a liaison between the employee and salary payroll department & hourly payroll department.  
⦁    Generates standard daily, weekly and monthly reports.(i.e. new hires, terminations, headcount, benefits, training, performance reviews etc.). 
⦁    Participate in data audits.
⦁    Generate new and ad hoc HRIS reports as needed by the HR department.  
⦁    Monitor vacation tracking and coordinate end of year vacation roll over process.
Benefits 
⦁    Act as employee liaison to the pension & benefits department. 
⦁    In charge of investigating and answering employee questions associated with benefits. 
Employee Relations  
⦁    Responsible for answering or directing employee inquiries. 
Reporting 
⦁    In charge of submitting monthly corporate reports to Corporate (Headcount, Contract Employees, and Turnover Report, HR Dashboard  etc.). 
⦁    Enter and update workforce planning changes into SAP. 
⦁    Complete and submit ad hoc reports on an as needed basis. 
⦁    Track and reconcile vacation, inclusive of creating an annual vacation carry over report.
 
Required Knowledge and Experience
⦁    Post-secondary education with a major in Human Resources or related field. 
⦁    3-5 years’ experience within Human Resources.
⦁    Experience working in an operational environment such as construction, oil and gas or engineering is an asset.
⦁    Exceptional organization, attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables. 
⦁    Experience with SAP and Success Factors is an asset. 
⦁    Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate with various audiences, stakeholders and clients.
