Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret travelers/work orders
  • Prepare parts for painting, including masking, protecting critical surfaces, threads, etc.
  • Operation, maintenance and use of Industrial paint spray equipment in a controlled (paint booth) environment, selection of spray gun nozzles for required coverage
  • Load/unload parts
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and free from hazards
  • Familiar with safety requirements and hazards of work area (including but not limited to WHMIS)
  • Ability to work within a spray booth while wearing respirator and other protected gear

 

Required Knowledge & Experience 

  • 2 to 5 years industrial painting experience, working in a paint booth, operating a hand-held spray gun
  • Knowledge of different paint bands, types and mixing requirements for particular applications
  • Knowledge of different thinners, inhibitors and their proper use and application
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Able to read/understand paint Technically Data Sheets and MSDS documentation.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
  • Ability to distinguish colours
  • Frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping and lifting of heave parts
  • Work environment: noise level is moderate to loud
  • Must be available to work steady 2nd shift or shift rotation
