About Us 

Aecon, and its predecessor companies, have been actively engaged in Nuclear Construction in Canada, and internationally, since 1967. Aecon aims to be the partner-of-choice for our nuclear clients and our dedication to excellence is leading us there.  Aecon Nuclear provides a full spectrum of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services, in addition to maintenance and manufacturing services tailored to meet the demanding requirements of the nuclear power industry.  We hold a broad range of nuclear qualifications to support the nuclear industry with construction and maintenance services. Currently, Aecon is a major partner for both ongoing refurbishment programs at OPG and Bruce Power, and provides EPC services for many nuclear maintenance projects. We also provides major construction services to the nuclear power market in the US.

Reporting to the Project Manager, Continuous Improvement, the Continuous Improvement Co-op will be responsible for assisting the Change, Improvement and Innovations team within Continuous Improvement. This is an 8 month term located in Cambridge, ON. 

What You'll Do Here 

  • Assist in documenting and visualizing business processes, as needed, across multiple functions (Quality, Human Performance, HR, Business Development, Procurement, etc.)
  • Contribute to the creation, revision, and organization of procedures and standardized templates for use within the Nuclear sector’s Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Support the Management of Change Governance Committee Chair with the coordination and document change management activities, including preparation for monthly board meetings
  • Support the organization, scheduling, and facilitation of cross-functional workshops and project meetings
  • Support initiative performance monitoring using schedules, status trackers and update tools for ongoing Change, Improvement, and Innovation (CII) initiatives
  • Contribute to communications and documentation that reinforce safety culture and compliance with regulatory and client requirements
  • Regularly update and maintain project dashboards, prepare and manipulate data for reports, and support data-driven decision making

What You Bring To The Team

  • Enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a university or college program: Business, Engineering, Technical Writing and Communications, or related disciplines. Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook; PowerPoint) and proficiency process mapping tools, such as Microsoft Visio
  • Ability to develop clear, accurate documentation for technical or business processes
  • Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience or knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems is an asset
  • Ability to work in various locations, if required (field and office). Travel within Ontario, may be necessary
