The Category and Contract Compliance Manager is responsible for developing and executing category strategies while ensuring supplier contracts are effectively implemented, monitored, and enforced. This role partners closely with Procurement, Contracts, Legal, Finance, and key business stakeholders to drive value, manage risk, and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements across assigned categories.
This position blends traditional category management responsibilities with contract compliance oversight to ensure negotiated agreements deliver expected commercial, operational, and performance outcome
Citizenship Requirement:
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
Category Management & Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with organizational goals, cost optimization, and risk management objectives
- Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including market analysis, RFP/RFQ processes, supplier negotiations, and contract award recommendations
- Analyze spend, supplier performance, and market trends to identify savings, consolidation, and value-creation opportunities
- Serve as the primary business partner for assigned categories, aligning stakeholder needs with sourcing strategies
Contract Compliance & Governance
- Ensure supplier adherence to contractual terms, pricing, service levels, and performance requirements
- Monitor compliance with contract obligations, including audits, reporting, and performance scorecards
- Identify and resolve contract deviations, non-compliance issues, and disputes in collaboration with Legal and internal stakeholders
- Support contract lifecycle management, including renewals, amendments, and termination decisions
- Maintain governance frameworks to ensure contracts are executed and managed consistently across categories
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
- Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships, including regular business reviews
- Track KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics to ensure suppliers meet contractual commitments
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance value, quality, and service delivery
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Risk Management
- Partner with Legal, Finance, Compliance, and Operations to ensure sourcing and contracting activities meet internal policies and external regulations
- Identify and mitigate commercial, operational, and compliance risks within assigned categories
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews related to supplier contract
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or contract management
- Strong understanding of contract terms, compliance monitoring, and supplier governance
- Proven negotiation skills with experience managing complex supplier agreements
- Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis and performance metrics
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Experience working closely with Legal and Compliance teams
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with detail-oriented contract oversight
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing multiple priorities
