What is the Opportunity?

The Human Resources Manager – Aecon Nuclear US Division is responsible for delivering strategic and operational HR support across Aecon’s U.S.-based nuclear operations, including commercial nuclear, federal services, engineering, and shared services. This role ensures compliance with U.S. labor regulations, supports workforce planning and talent development, and partners with business leaders to drive HR initiatives aligned with Aecon’s strategic growth in the U.S. market.

 

What You'll Do Here:

  • Serve as the primary HR business partner for Aecon Nuclear’s U.S. operations, including commercial nuclear, federal services, engineering, and shared services teams.
  • Lead the US based HR team, ensuring consistent deliver of HR services and to Aecon’s strategic HR intent.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. labor standards, including EEO, FMLA ADA and other regulations.
  • Lead the implementation and ensure ongoing compliance with federal contractor standards, including workforce documentation, security protocols, and labor regulations.
  • Drive employee relations and performance management initiatives by fostering a positive workplace culture, resolving employee concerns, and implementing feedback-driven systems that support accountability and growth.
  • Lead talent development strategies including, talent reviews and development planning.
  • In partnership with the Talent Acquisition community of expertise, develop recruitment plans for the business unit, including thoughtful talent assessment/ interview practices, integration with overall workforce plans, and effective onboarding.
  • Conduct compensation impact analysis as required, for various purposes including streamlining and organizational structure analysis, market data assessments and recommendations
  • Participate in strategic planning and readiness initiatives for Aecon’s U.S. expansion.
  • Contribute to Aecon’s U.S. readiness plan by supporting the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and systems that align with federal contractor requirements and operational goals.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated leadership in U.S.-based operations
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws and regulations, including EEO, FMLA, ADA, and federal contractor standards
  • Experience implementing and maintaining compliance with federal contracting requirements, is an asset
  • Skilled in employee relations and performance management, with a track record of fostering positive workplace culture and accountability.
  • Strategic mindset with experience contributing to business expansion and readiness initiatives, particularly in regulated environments.
  • Ability to develop and implement HR policies, programs, and systems that support operational goals.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel across U.S. project sites.
