What You'll Do Here:
The Construction Manager – Steam Generator Replacement (SGR) supports the planning and execution of steam generator replacement projects across the U.S. nuclear market. This role is part of Aecon’s Steam Generator Team (SGT) and works closely with SGT leadership to deliver construction scope in support of EPC‑level SGR projects.
The Construction Manager provides construction leadership from early planning through field execution, ensuring construction strategies, work packaging, sequencing, resource planning, and execution readiness align with outage constraints, nuclear quality requirements, and SGT’s overall delivery strategy. During execution, the role provides direct field leadership to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory, quality, and contractual requirements.
Construction Planning & Readiness

Participate in early‑phase planning activities for U.S. steam generator replacement projects, including constructability reviews, execution strategy development, and work packaging.

Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and SGT leadership to ensure construction requirements are fully integrated into project plans.

Support development of construction schedules, manpower plans, logistics strategies, and outage execution plans.

Review engineering deliverables for constructability and execution readiness, identifying risks and mitigation strategies.

Contribute to the development of staffing plans, supervision models, and labor strategies aligned with project and outage needs.
Field Execution & Leadership

Lead and support on‑site construction execution during steam generator replacement outages and related work scopes.

Provide construction leadership to superintendents, field engineers, and craft supervision for direct‑hire and subcontracted labor.

Ensure construction activities are executed in compliance with nuclear safety, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinate daily and weekly execution activities to maintain alignment with critical‑path schedules and outage milestones.

Monitor construction performance against schedule, cost, safety, and quality objectives, escalating issues as required.
Safety, Quality & Compliance

Promote a strong nuclear safety culture and ensure adherence to site, regulatory, and SGT quality programs.

Ensure construction work is planned and executed in accordance with approved procedures, work packages, and permits.

Support resolution of field issues, non‑conformances, and constructability challenges in coordination with engineering and quality teams.
Stakeholder & Team Integration

Act as a key construction interface between Aecon, SGT partners, client representatives, and site operations.

Support strong collaboration across SGT functions, including engineering, project controls, quality, and supply chain.

Contribute to lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, and the development of repeatable SGR execution models within SGT.
What You Bring to the Team:

Minimum 10–15 years of progressive construction experience, ideally within nuclear, major component replacement, or outage‑driven projects.

Demonstrated experience supporting both construction planning and field execution on complex, high‑risk projects.

Strong understanding of nuclear construction requirements, safety culture, and quality expectations.

Experience leading construction teams, superintendents, and craft labor during outage or critical‑window work.

Post‑secondary education in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
This position offers the opportunity to be part of Aecon’s dedicated Steam Generator Team (SGT) supporting the growth of steam generator replacement work across the U.S. nuclear market. The role is well‑suited for construction leaders who enjoy shaping execution strategies early and then driving successful delivery in the field.
Citizenship Requirement:
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by the U.S federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
