What Is the Opportunity?

 

We are looking for a  Counsel Corporate  to join our team.  You will be reporting to the General Counsel, Public Company & Corporate Secretary.  This role will be based out of the Philadelphia tri-state area.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of agreements and perform legal analysis of risks associated with such agreements
  • Transactional responsibilities on mergers and acquisitions, including working collaboratively with other in-house counsel and operational leads
  • Interface with, and effectively managing, external counsel
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders across operational groups
  • Support corporate functional groups including tax, finance, real estate, procurement and IT
  • Assist the internal compliance function and serve as a legal resource on compliance initiatives
  • Assist with the development, drafting and updating of Aecon’s corporate policies

 

What you Bring to The Team

  • JD degree and admitted to practice law in at least one state
  • 4+ years or relevant corporate legal experience subsequent to bar admission, with at least 2 years that being law firm experience
  • Preferrable experience includes: mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and public company matters, and corporate governance activities required by the local, state or federal regulatory compliance
  • Experience and knowledge of the construction industry is an asset
  • Fluent in Spanish is an asset.
