Voltage Power Ltd, a subsidiary of Aecon Utilities, is a design build high voltage electrical contracting firm that provides the highest quality in products and services for electrical utilities, independent power producers and large power users.

 

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the quality field team to ensure the efficient and profitable execution of the installation of overhead & underground utility infrastructure. 

 

What You Will Do Here:  

  • Assist the Quality Manager with creating quality plans, manuals, and procedures
  • Review production board to ensure there aren’t any technology glitches, and communicating any issues to the QA Manager and Aecon One
  • Analyze all quality documentation and submit to ATCO; QCRs, As-built drawings, Weld inspections, PDA test reports (this includes Aecon foundations documentation)
  • Create NCRs and work with ATCO to resolve them
  • Receiving and submitting all RFI’s on ATCO SharePoint and communicating them to the internal project group
  • Maintain document control system; including the revision control and distribution of contract documents, IFC drawings and RFIs
  • Communicate effectively with onsite construction management team to manage and optimize Quality and production activity schedules
  • Review project details and ensure that the project quality plan aligns with client requirements
  • Provide a weekly quality report to the QA Manager, the Project Group and the Client
  • Maintain files and correspondence on active and completed projects
  • Complete required project field inspections
  • Available to travel to and/or locate at project assignments across Canada and beyond as required.
  • When on a construction site, may be subject to extreme noise and heat. May be expected to climb ladders or wear fall protection depending on job location.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • Education to include technical college diploma or combination of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Experience in utility contracting industry in quality and/or construction is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven people and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals
  • Strong communication, written and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to utilize current technologies, i.e., computer skills
  • Highly proficient with MS Office suite – MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to take initiative and leadership
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to resolve project disputes with minimal assistance.
  • Availability to collaboratively work within both an office and site environment.
  • Ability to inspire and foster an environment of cooperation between different departments and co-workers.
  • Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project required.
