In December 2024, United Engineers and Constructors was acquired by Aecon Group Inc. Aecon and United have a proven working relationship and the United team continues to operate in the market as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company.
Candidate will lead a team of United Electrical and Instrumentation and Controls engineers and designers, providing continuous, on-site support for a nuclear plant in the Detroit/Chicago/Toledo area.
What You'll Do Here
Work entails supervisory oversight and approval of Engineering Change Packages consisting of:
- Equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations, and analysis as required to support the design and configuration control process.
- Equipment specifications include transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS/DC, communication systems, digital and process instrumentation and controls system components.
- Calculations include electrical studies including short circuit, voltage drop, coordination and arc flash studies using OTI-ETAP software.
- Electrical/I&C design documents including single line diagrams and panel schedules, schematic and wiring diagrams, electrical physical and raceway drawings, lighting and grounding plans, and cable schedules.
- Supervisory responsibilities include review of proposals, schedules and budgets; monitoring and reporting budget and schedule performance; and providing technical leadership to engineers and designers for the Electrical/I&C discipline.
- Candidate will support multiple projects and will coordinate activities with clients, contractors, vendors and other members of the project teams.
What You Bring To The Team
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in pipe stress analysis and pipe support design.
- Experience with SUPERPIPE software performing piping analysis to ASME Section III Code requirements for Class 1, 2, and 3 piping systems.
- The ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in US, and the ability to be licensed in other states through Comity.
- Experience working with Duke Energy (Nuclear)
