Aecon is currently seeking a Cost Controls Coordinator to join the Connect Cité group on the ADM Station project at Montreal Trudeau airport. Under the supervision and guidance of a Project Controls Manager, the Cost Control Coordinator will be responsible for providing Project Controls and in particularly Cost Control guidance and support to the project.


What You’ll Do Here:

  • Provide support in developing, establishing, and maintaining the company's project cost/control systems
  • Assist in monitoring of project accounting systems (cost codes, job cost processing procedures, project rules of credit)
  • Assist in monitoring project performance and ensure that the project control system is properly implemented
  • Generate/Maintain all required project status reports for internal management and for the customer, including the overall project Dashboard, project performance report (Earned Value, SPI, CPI, KPI)
  • Assist in the review and generate/analyze the cost reports and suggest corrective actions to maintain the project within anticipated cost
  • Provide support to the project team in budget and forecast management during execution to accurate reflect project status
  • Develops, or assists in the development of, quantity bases for the assumption and/or during forecasting budget
  • Performs data analysis, identifies problems, and makes recommendations
  • Ensure all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied and fulfilled for project set-up, project tracking and reporting, and project closeout
  • Creates and implements measurement systems for given processes, analyzes performance metric results, and identifies improvements
  • Responsible for monitoring/maintaining of project accounting systems (cost codes, job cost processing procedures, project rules of credit)


What You Bring to the Team:

  • 5-7 years of related project controls construction experience
  • Bilingual French and English is an asset
  • Knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes and an understanding of Controller instructions, which impact Project Controls (including Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Determination Data)
  • College and/or University degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Applied knowledge of Project Management and Cost Controls principles is an asset
  • Applied knowledge of the "Earned Value" principles is an asset
  • Ability to produce, read and manipulate schedules and scheduling curves/reports an asset
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment
  • Experience with Hard Dollar/InEight and SAP ERP systems is an asset
  • Intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees
  • Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge
  • Detail oriented
  • Must be able to travel to projects
  • Must possess valid G driver's license and have access to a vehicle
