Renowned for its expertise in heavy civil construction, our Civil East sector specializes in building essential infrastructure that powers economies and enhances communities.
Our portfolio features cutting-edge work on bridges, highways, tunnels, and airports to name a few! In the Caribbean region, we are leveraging our expertise and collaborative approach to deliver world-class infrastructure projects tailored to meet the unique needs of the island communities.
The Section Engineer carries out varied engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields. Problems usually solved by use of combination of standard procedures, modification of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments. This role is based in Anguilla.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Design, procurement, scheduling, production, transporting, installation, testing and commissioning of complex equipment
- Design and stamp drawings for construction purposes
- Manages the bids and proposals for new work
- Guides project relative to budget and progress relative to project schedule, control estimates and company procedures
- Ensures project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule and company/project policies.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to other technical employees like graduate engineers
- Provides interpretation of plans, detail sheets, and specifications for contractors or craft supervision.
- Develop complete understanding of project contract plans and specifications
- Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise and take corrective actions as needed
- Inspect subordinates’ work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed
- Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software with input from other project management personnel
- Review new issue drawings and contract documents for change of conditions; quantify impact of changes and review with supervisor; distribute new issues to fiel
- Prepare monthly cost projections using information generated from project management systems and prepare quarterly cash flow projections
- Improve project operations by recommending, as appropriate, better methods, staffing and procedural changes
- Manage and support project team including direct reports and others as needed
- Help drive the company environmental health and safety programs at the project level, driving a safety-oriented approach to work
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 6 years related working experience in engineering.
- Experience with and understanding of Engineered tools/equipment, automated systems, remote tooling systems
- Proficient in software related to construction industry as required (e.g. Primavera Scheduling software, AutoCAD, SAP etc.)
- Excellent Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- EPC and/or EPCM project knowledge and experience.
- Understanding of the Engineering Change Process.
- Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Flexibility to work in both field and office.
