Reporting to the Construction Lead, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating vertical and horizontal separations, working space requirements, installation sequencing, iterative design updates, and clashes between multidisciplinary design details for installation of underground and above grade utilities within a major construction project. Also, coordinating related procurement, scheduling, estimating, and project proposal functions for project status updates in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do Here:
- Provides Construction Lead with data and project analysis.
- Supports project team in management of utility construction packages
- Tracks changes in scope, costs, and schedule on projects.
- Performs quantity take-off from construction drawings.
- Develops and submits administrative documentation on project changes
- Monitors and provides updates on design and construction plan changes to management
- Collaborates with designers and third-party stakeholders to resolve infrastructure clashes in designs
- Maintains files and correspondence on project to support change management
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Prolonged sedentary positioning.
- Visits and inspection of current site conditions will be required.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Graduate from the Civil or Electrical Engineering/Technologist/Construction Management programs.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry in a similar role.
- Experience in the utility industry is a strong asset.
- Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.
- Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project or equivalent
- Experience in AutoCAD or Microstation is an asset.
- Strong communication skills – oral and written.
- Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with others as a team.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
The expected salary for this position is $50,000 - $70,000. Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience and unique skills.
