Company & Position Overview

Aecon is seeking a Director to build and lead our U.S. Power operations. As a key member of our leadership team reporting to the Vice President, Power, you will drive the successful growth and operational execution of our Power business across the U.S. The location is flexible in the U.S., with the ability to travel extensively across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategy to grow and enhance Aecon’s Power capabilities in the U.S. market
- Accountable for leading strategic business development activities, formulating solutions to address client challenges while also pursuing new projects and opportunities with new and existing clients
- Responsible for the overall leadership and execution of existing projects to ensure operations are executed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
- Accountable for the development and execution of the annual business plan for Aecon Power U.S.
- Assist in the establishment and ensure compliance of operational short-term and long-term goals with overall organizational objectives
- Participate in the development of long-term strategy for Aecon Power in the U.S. market
- Responsible for the leadership, development and retention of their team
- Influence, motivate and inform employees about the organizational strategy and progress
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Proven leadership, business development and operational experience in the Power industry in the U.S. at a similar level (transmission, renewables, generation, and large scale substation)
- Experience in successfully building and scaling a Power construction operation, safely and profitably
- Well established client relationships with major U.S. power utilities
- Definitive focus on sustaining work with a demonstrated track record of building and managing a team and executing multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to manage the operational and financial performance of a business unit
- Strong connections, relationships and professional presence in the industry with clients
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, public officials, team, peers and the general public
- Strong understanding of the drivers in the industry in the U.S. (i.e business trends, regulatory, economic, and political)
- Experience in assessing and negotiating contracts
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a strategic mindset and problem-solving ability.

- Ability to travel extensively across the U.S.
