What is the Opportunity?
What You’ll Do Here:
- Interpret Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and provide redlines to the Site Supervisor as required
- Oversee and execute installation activities for assigned crews, ensuring quality and productivity targets are met
- Plan weekly work fronts, coordinate tasks, and organize materials to support efficient execution
- Identify and communicate material and consumable needs to the Site Supervisor in a timely manner
- Support resolution of on-site issues and assist in managing crew-level disputes
- Communicate site conditions and constraints to the Construction Manager, including resourcing, site services, and materials
- Manage crew timesheets and ensure accuracy of daily reporting
- Promote and uphold Aecon’s safety culture, ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety standards
What You Bring to the Team:
- Minimum of 3+ years of substation field experience, including at least 1+ year in a Subforeman or leadership capacity, with hands-on experience across key substation scopes.
- Proven experience in:
- Foundation installation in line with engineered specifications
- Conduit installation and routing within substation environments
- Ground grid installation and grounding systems
- Precast trench installation and site integration
- Cable tray installation for structured cable management
- Structural steel installation and alignment
- Apparatus installation and equipment setting
- Bus work installation with proper clearances and fit-up
- Low-voltage cable installation, termination, and wiring
- Demonstrated leadership capability, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working in brownfield environments, including protection grounding, is considered an asset, along with exposure to substation energization and commissioning/start-up activities.
- Collaborative, solution-oriented team player with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
