What is the Opportunity? 

Aecon Utilities is a North American leader in utility infrastructure construction, with a growing presence across Texas. We build critical infrastructure that powers communities, connects people, and moves energy. Our teams deliver utility, telecom, and energy projects.


As Aecon Utilities continues to expand across Texas, we're building a strong pool of field leaders to oversee upcoming projects. We’re looking for experienced Forepersons who can manage crews, enforce safety, and maintain productivity in utility construction.

 

This is an evergreen posting, qualified candidates will be contacted as new work is awarded.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Support the Superintendent in planning, scheduling, and coordinating field activities.
  • Lead daily crew operations and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to spec.
  • Supervise all field personnel, including general laborers and licensed trades.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work complies with company and regulatory standards.
  • Assign work, assess crew capabilities, and provide on-the-job training and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Coordinators to ensure alignment on materials, permits, and scheduling.
  • Monitor site progress and make real-time adjustments to meet project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, job-specific procedures, and union agreements (if applicable).
  • Conduct daily briefings, enforce discipline, and uphold morale and productivity on site.
  • Coordinate work with other trades and teams to avoid conflicts and maintain flow.
  • Support quality control, environmental standards, and safety documentation.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience, including crew leadership.
  • Previous experience in utility work (telecom, electrical, pipeline, or civil) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with reading drawings, permits, and job specifications.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Physical ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varied conditions.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
