As we continue expanding our Texas Power Delivery operations, we are strengthening our Quality organization to support field teams and ensure every project is executed in full compliance with contract, code, and client expectations.
We are looking for a QA/QC Inspector- Transmission and Substations, a field‑based quality professional who plays a key role in verifying that construction activities meet all approved drawings, specifications, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), applicable codes, and Aecon’s quality standards.
This role is centered on quality control execution, inspection, documentation, and verification, while supporting the broader Quality Management System under the leadership of the QA/QC Manager.
What You'll Do Here:
- Perform field inspections for civil, structural, and electrical work on transmission and substation projects
- Verify construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and project requirements
- Execute and track Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and defined hold points
- Identify quality issues, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and verify corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain detailed inspection reports, daily logs, and quality records
- Witness and document testing activities (e.g., concrete testing, rebar placement, anchor bolts, foundations, electrical installation)
- Support punch lists, final inspections, and turnover documentation
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve quality issues
- Verify proper material handling, storage, and traceability
- Support internal and client audits under the direction of the QA/QC Manager
- Promote adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards in the field
What You Bring to the Team:
- 3–7 years of QA/QC inspection experience in utility, power delivery, industrial, or heavy civil construction
- Experience on transmission, substation, or similar infrastructure projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements
- Working knowledge of construction quality processes and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital inspection/reporting tools
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Texas
- Valid driver’s license
- Certifications such as CWI, ACI, NACE/AMPP, ISO 9001, or similar is preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 is preferred
- Experience supporting testing and commissioning activities is preferred
- Familiarity with client turnover and closeout documentation is preferred
