The Hydrodemolition Construction Manager will be responsible for ensuring hydrodemolition project success and safety. This position will be accountable for all pre-execution planning activities to ensure all necessary construction packages have been readied and available for use. The Hydrodemolition Construction Manager will be responsible for all site hydrodemolition execution matters utilizing Aquajet equipment, including direct-hire and subcontracted labor training, mockup development to ensure quality standards are upheld, Aquajet equipment selection and continued operation, estimation and proposal development.

What You'll Do Here 

 

  • Responsible for all construction execution matters, including the timely performance of the work
  • Accountable for work safety and human performance issues, and for collaborating with the project Safety Manager
  • Maintain a positive relationship with client construction counterpart 
  • Utilize project master schedule to create detailed look ahead schedules for hydrodemolition work activities
  • Monitor and manage risks, develop recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of direct hire trade labor and subcontractors, efficient use of materials and tools & equipment and contractual performance of the project
  • Application of home company discipline policies and appropriate escalation of performance concerns
  • Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner specified requirements
  • Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications and work packages
  • Ensure hydrodemolition equipment is safely utilized and best practices are continuously implemented
  • Train Operators in the safe use of Aquajet equipment
  • Ensuring Aquajet equipment efficiency
  • Perform competency evaluations of Aquajet operators and develop a continuous training program
  • Ensure Aquajet spare parts program is adequate based off current and future work activities
  • Monitor daily production rates of hydrodemolition equipment and update schedule with accurate forecasts

 

 What You Bring To The Team

 

  • Minimum of 5 years hydrodemolition construction and subcontractor supervision experience
  • Direct Aquajet operational experience required
  • Nuclear construction experience is an asset
  • Must have the ability to handle all matters in a confidential and professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and customer relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of self-perform trades work, estimating and employee relations required.
  • Requires proficient trades union relations management skills, and a solid understanding of union agreements applicable to the work
  • Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as; technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements
  • Must have a full appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry
