The Aecon-Wachs management team is well known throughout their target markets as a leader in Nuclear Capital Projects & Maintenance solutions.   


Reporting to the Director of Nuclear Business Development, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for sales of EPC Projects, On-Site Field Services, Shop Fabrications, New Construction Projects, Component Upgrades and Equipment sales primarily focused Savannah River Site, Oak Ridge National Lab, Los Alamos National Lab, all NNSA and DOE/DOD facilities and small business contractors. This individual will be a key member of the Aecon Nuclear team and will contribute to long range business objectives regarding their Key Accounts. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Develops, leverages, and optimizes critical relationships within Government to promote market presence and access to targeted work scopes. 
  • Formulates and implements programs, plans, procedures and management strategies to achieve both long and short-term strategic objectives. 
  • Follows goals, objectives and standards of performance for the group that are necessary to reach the required level of performance to carry out the mission. 
  • Contributes and complies to a business plan so that the operations meet corporate financial targets. 
  • Contributes to annual strategic planning effort and keeps current with quarterly business reviews related to strategy, changes in market conditions, etc. 
  • Maintains annual sales and account strategic plan with a three year look ahead. 
  • Develops business cases for leadership review for key orders before the RFQ is received. 
  • Maintains a vibrant competitor watch, customer watch, technology watch, and economy watch in order to allow Aecon to keep ahead of the competition, and customer's needs. 
  • Supports Aecon-Wachs strategic direction in line with our ten-year vision and drives our major opportunity long term analysis and development. 
  • Supports integration and partnerships with other industry contractors including but not limited to L&R partners, technology partners, small business partners and OEM’s.  
  • Drives integration with other Aecon business units including but not limited to AIML, a division based in the Automotive Industry now directly related to Aecon-Wachs P&L. 


Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of related Sales experience in the nuclear and/or government field.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management. The position interfaces actively with key senior Aecon Nuclear executives, key Aecon-Wachs executives, Project Managers, Quality Manager, EHS Manager, Engineering Manager, and Production Managers. 
  • Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly, and work well as part of a team. 
  • Demonstrated effective strategic planning. 
  • Well-developed and demonstrated proposal skills with the ability to provide consistent structure and processes. 
  • Good knowledge of service pricing strategies. 
  • Strong internal interpersonal and interaction skills in order to be able to quickly influence direction without direct control. 
  • Superior knowledge of technical equipment and services as well as general knowledge of competitor products.  
  • Ability to develop, motivate and support effective strategic analysis, competitor analysis and marketing teams. 
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills. 
  • Able to develop and communicate a clear vision.
