PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
At Aecon-Wachs we are always looking for exceptional talent to join our team and work on our growing project portfolios. We are actively recruiting for QC Inspectors to support our various project sites across the US.
Reporting to the Quality Manager the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the performance of all quality functions and duties related to construction activities of their assigned project or segments of work under Aecon-Wach’s and/or Client Quality Programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform quality inspection in accordance with the related codes and customer specifications. Such inspections could include but not be limited to:
• Dimensional inspections
• Visual welding inspection
• Mechanical Inspections
• Material Receipt
• Participate in preparation and execution of the Inspection and Test Plans.
• Perform Source Inspections, Initial Inspections, In-Process Inspections and Final Inspections.
• Complete all associated documentation; Quality Control reports, Surveillance Reports, Inspection Logs, Inspection Reports, etc.
• Control of measuring and test equipment.
• Review of Certified Material Test Reports as required.
• Verification of material and material markings before separation of material.
• Perform internal weld monitoring as required.
• Initiation of non-conformance reports and corrective/preventative action request.
• Segregation of Nonconforming Material.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) issued by the American Welding Society.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Quality Control within the nuclear industry preferred.
• Collaborates with coworkers and has strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be comfortable working in Radiological Work Areas.
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, etc.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be able to be hold and maintain a Security Clearance at US Nuclear facility
• Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
- This position is based out of our Aecon - WACHS office in Jackson, SC.
