The Opportunity

This includes numerous public entities and Public-Private Partnerships in Canada and abroad. Reporting to the Quality Manager - the E&I Quality Representative will be responsible for inspecting and testing activities for the construction of electrical and instrumentation on the project. Note: This is a contract position of up to 12-18 months.

 

The project is located at the BHP – Potash Mine in Jansen, Saskatchewan.

 

What you'll do here:
• Performs on-site quality E & I inspections in accordance with project requirements.
• Inspects work in progress and/or completed to determine and ensure that the work complies with the standards and specifications.
• Oversees any 3rd party testing agencies subcontracted on the project
• Assists with the implementation and maintenance of quality programs as required.
• Assists with the preparation and verification of various technical reports; including inspection and test plans, pre- and post-inspection documentation etc.
• Identifies and reports work that does not meet the quality requirements.
• Collaborates with the project team to determine approaches & methods to improve the overall quality of work.
• Completes all associated documentation and forms for individual inspections.
• Assists with the tracking of non-conformance reports and corrective/ preventative action requests.
• Performs Source Inspections, In-Process Inspections and Final Inspections
• Completes all associated documentation; Quality Control reports, sign-off on drawings, create as-built drawings, etc.
• Compiles all final turnover documentation associated with the project.

 

What your bring to the team:
• At least 2 years’ experience as a quality E & I inspector is required.
• Electrical JM certification & industrial construction experience will be a definite advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret Electrical and Instrumentation drawings and specifications
• Familiar with inspection techniques related to E & I construction and testing – megger, point-to-point, grounding, tubing, cable tray & raceway, etc.
• Exposure to industrial projects will be considered an asset.
• Computer literate in MS Office (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), experience with SmartCompletions is an asset.
• Proven ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven organization and time management skills.
• Ability to interact with project client representatives
• Team player and driven for success
• Local to Saskatchewan area would be a definite advantage
